Description
CSO began in 1966 as the Activity Center for Handicapped Adults. It was organized by a group of parents of people with developmental disabilities. In 1974, the organization incorporated as the Wasco Association for the Developmentally Disabled (WADD). During the years following incorporation, WADD experienced continued growth both in numbers of people served and the programs offered. In an effort to reflect the evolving nature of its mission, WADD changed its name in 1998 to Community Support Options. CSO now offers services throughout Kern County.
